I’m an idiot…

I’ve pretty much spent the entire afternoon getting around Windows Vista, and I’m very close to putting my fist through the monitor.

Firstly, this permissions thing is driving me insane. If I want to do anything, i have to confirm it. I mean anything.

I want to add a font, I have to confirm that I want to do it. Seriously, how can i accidentaly drop a font into a font folder and not mean to do it… I got 1300 fonts and I had to manually say no to each and every system font that I was about to overwite. There’s no “do this with all” function anywhere… bah.

Then, I downloaded my Adobe Web Premium package, all 1.65gb of installer and poof, its gone… Where? I don’t know. It was heading for the desktop last i looked before Vista crashed and had to relaunch itself AFTER the download was complete.

I’ve installed Vista on a new 10,000 rpm drive, (a very quick one) and kept the old drive just incase I want to boot in xp and save all that data. I installed iTunes and browsed to my music folder on the old xp drive and I got shot down. “You don’t have permission to do this, click here to edit permissions”, so i click here, then “you don’t have permissions to set permissions” (even though I’m root admin) and i click here to set permissions again. anyway, in all, I got 14 promts to get access to 1 iTunes music folder.

Man, do I feel like a chump.
