Getting my hands dirty with CodeIgniter…

I downloaded CodeIgniter (CI) around a year ago and to be honest, I didn’t really know what I was doing. The video tutorials went straight over my head and I quietly deleted the folder from my dev webserver.

A couple of days ago, I paid the CI forums a visit for a diveby and decided to give it another go - spurred on my the ExpressionEngine (EE) 2.0 announcement. To my altogether pleasant surprise I managed to build a small blogging application within a couple of hours. Scoff at my punile php skills and say ‘I could do that in 10 minutes’ but for me this is pretty huge.

EE has been my interface to a DB for the last two years, and as powerful as it is, I get frustrated as do others on some of its limitations (which arent a lot - but they do pop up now and again).

This is big and I feel the same as I did when I first started playing around with EE.

Bring on nerdsville. I’m keen.
