Backing up files made easy with Synctoy…

Microsoft has brought out a great little tool for synchronizing folders and backing up data. Its called Synctoy and is a free download from the Microsoft website.

Basically you select a left and right folder and select a function called echo, it analyzes what’s on the left and if it isn’t on the right, or is newer, it copies the file accross. It even deletes files on the right that have been removed from the left.

Before this i’d do a backup once a month and list folders by date modified, trouble is some folders have Gb’s of data that havent been changed - so would take ages. Now it takes me around 25 minutes to do the lot, while I work…
