Expressionengine has been a revelation for me; purely and simply a life changing piece of software.
In 2006 EE bounced me from producing static html sites - where I outsourced *any* dynamic, complex, database-driven work - to empowering me to feel like I could build just about anything. Really, anything.

This morning I had the pleasure of checking my mail to receive an email update from the Chemical Brothers with the subject line “New Album News!"…

I submitted this letter in response to an article submitted to the local rag about the performance of the local economic development agency:
Dear Mike Mansell,
regarding your column that appeared in the Whangarei Report,
June 12, 2008:
Don’t be an arse.
The easiest thing in the world is to sit back and criticise others whilst not offering a way forward…

Now, before I get started on this topic, I want to acknowledge the person running this website workshop and state she does her job well. If you are looking at an increase in traffic, speak to her and she’ll sort you out.
The issues I have are a couple of rungs up the ladder from the event facilitator, probably at the NZTE Auckland office, but I’m waiting to hear back from an email I sent there, expressing my concern.

A touchy subject, but one I feel strongly about having children myself.
Lock the whole family up and don’t let them out until one of them speaks up. What a shambles of a legal system we have in New Zealand.
“The wrong person was in the dock either that or that wrong person should be standing in the dock with her partner.”
How can the police close a case like this?

Around 1 year ago, i submitted a complaint to Whangarei District Council about their awful website in general, and in particular the A-Z they have on there.
I remember calling it ‘A sloppy excuse for information architecture’. Instead of actually drilling down to what you are looking for, you’re expected to find it in the A-Z.

This issue almost drove me insane. For the last two days I’ve been having major Photoshop CS3 colour issues on my 20” high definition 2007WFP Dell - which is used as a secondary display to my spanking new MacBook Pro.
The solution, was stupidly simple, but had me almost putting my fist through my monitor.

Why am I paying did I pay NZ$3,198.00 for a MacBook Pro then?
I just don’t get why us poor folk in New Zealand have to pull down our pants and take it nicely in the you know where when it comes to Apple’s pricing.

I’ve pretty much spent the entire afternoon getting around Windows Vista, and I’m very close to putting my fist through the monitor.

I thought I’d do some professional development and go along to ‘The Search Engine Room‘ workshop last week in Auckland.
To say the least, I have to say I was a little disappointed.

If you are using Internet Explorer get off my site now and install firefox.
Today I spent the best part of 5 hours debugging a simple menu for a client and I swear, if i had seen Mr Gates walking down the street I would have slapped him silly. That time, plus an uncountable stupendous amount of time debugging other sites was lost in unbillable heaven. Gone.
Mr Internet Explorer, I’ve got better things to be doing with my time.

Sending files to print and then trying to cancel them sometimes causes my cpu to max out at 99%. Worst thing is the bastard file won’t go away even after a reboot, and the cpu still plays up.
After some googling, heres the fix…
